a) Carers UK is the national organization which offers information and advice to carers; organises conferences and events; publishes a carers’ newsletter; and lobbies Government on behalf of Carers. b) Citizens' Advice Bureau offers a free, impartial, confidential service of information, guidance and support on any subject, to anyone who needs it.

c) Lonsdale District Carers and Carers Centre: A group of carers whose aim is to promote better local services for carers. The group produce a newsletter, arrange regular carers days and events/trips to give carers a well earned break from caring. Help with respite care may be available to allow carers to take part in these activities. The Carers Centre is open to carers to drop in for a chat with other carers over a cup of tea or coffee or to obtain information about local services and help available. Open Monday – Friday 10.30 – 15.00.
